One Shoulder Ruffle Sweatshirt

Top: Nordstrom | Denim Mini: Sold out (identical here)
Boots: Got them last year (LOVE these from Something Navy's new line!)
Bag: Old (super similar here) | Hat: Old (similar here) | Belt: Gucci

Happy Friday to you!! I was so excited when I found this SUPER COMFY yet adorable one-shoulder ruffled sweatshirt for under $50 at Nordstrom the other day. Style it dressed up a little like I have here or dress it down with jeans and slides. I especially love it styled with a hat, as I think it adds that extra touch to the look. I purchased these slouchy over-the-knee boots last year, and to be honest I wasn't super crazy about them then. However, the slouchy boot trend is really in this Fall, and I'm so glad now that I have these. I have linked this pair from Something Navy's line at Nordstrom that are super similar, and I absolutely love them in both the grey and black! So cute with sweater dresses and skirts for the Fall and Winter months!! XO

The Color of the Season

Coat: Exact one here (obsessed with this and this!)
Skirt: Old (similar here and here) | Tank: Express
Booties: Old (similar here) | Bag: Nordstrom
Hat: Old (identical here) | Sunglasses: Old (super identical here!)

Happy Tuesday! We had so much fun with my in-laws and grandma-in-law in town this past weekend! I took a little break from social media and from the blog yesterday to enjoy spending time with them over the weekend! Betty Jo (my hubby's grandma) was a trooper all weekend! She climbed all of the stairs up to see Lincoln, and she walked quite a bit throughout the city! It was some major inspiration, and it made me realize how grateful we should be to be able to spend this time with her. She is a gem, indeed! Now onto this look, you've heard me talk about how big mustard, marigold, and basically any form of muted yellow is for Fall here. So, when I saw this coat in Zara recently, I had to snag it. I love how it looks against this black and white ensemble. I have a feeling you will be seeing a lot of this color on me this Fall, so I hope you love it as much as I do!

Also, did y'all snag any of the Something Navy collection released yesterday at Nordstrom?! She is one of my favorite bloggers, and I absolutely adore her line. I was able to get the off-the-shoulder sweater in black (now sold out) and these mules! XO

Favorite Little Dress + Major Sale!

Dress: Loft | Booties: Steve Madden
Bag: Chloé | Lips: Bobbi Brown in "Dusty Pink"

Happy Thursday!! I posted this dress on Instagram a few weeks ago, but I wanted to dedicate a post to it since it's now on sale and an additional 40% off of the sale price! The shades of blush, grey, and pink in this little number make for the prettiest combination! It's that piece that you can reach for when you need something quickly to just thrown on and go... my absolute favorite kinda dress!

My in-laws and sweet grandmother-in-law arrive in DC this evening, and they will be here for a few days visiting us. Betty Jo is my husband's grandmother, and she is truly an inspiration! She is 89 years old, lives on her own, still drives, gets her hair done once a week at the salon, and she keeps herself busy by volunteering at their church and in the community. Major future #grandma goals! I am so excited to show her around DC, and I look forward to making some precious memories with them this weekend! I am linking a few other favorites from the Loft sale below - everything is currently 40% off!

Oversized Bright Pink Sweater

Sweater: Exact sweater here (loving this and this, too!)
Skirt: Exact skirt here and I love this one!
Tank: Sold out, but I just ordered this!
Bag: Sold out, identical here! | Booties: Old, similar here

Bright colored sweaters always add that extra punch to any Fall outfit, and this bright pink oversized cardigan does just that by adding the perfect punch to this otherwise all black look. I scored quite a few things at Zara the other day, including the leather skirt and bright pink sweater both featured above! Although I am forever a lover of neutrals, my eyes are always drawn to brighter colors, as they truly make me happy when I'm wearing them! And, that's what this blog is all about, right? Looking and feeling your best in whatever you're wearing. I'm a firm believer that an outfit totally impacts your mood and what type of day you're going to have. A killer outfit can absolutely make or break your day! In the widget below, I have linked several other pink sweaters that I'm loving right now in all different tones! Happy shopping! XO

Feminine Fall Floral Dress Turned Duster

Dress/Duster: Zara | Skirt: H&M
Tank: Express (this style is sold out but this one is even cuter!)
Booties: Old, identical here
Bag: Nordstrom (love this one, too!)
Sunnies: Old, similar here
Lips: Bobbi Brown in "Dusty Pink"

Happy Monday! I can't believe that this week (on Friday to be exact) marks the beginning of the Fall season. I am forever a fan of the spring and summer months, as I can't get enough of the longer evenings and it actually still being daylight outside when I leave the office... ya feel me?! However, I reallyyyyy love some sweaters, hats, and booties... so bring on those cooler temps! I think one reason I don't long for this time of year as much is because once Fall hits in DC, it turns to winter REAL fast. And, it stays cold until about mid-April. So, I'll take my warmer temperatures for as long as they are willing to stay around! Anyways, I picked up this dress duster on Saturday at Zara, and I also picked up this blue wrap skirt from H&M while I was shopping around this weekend. I was totally not planning to wear them together until I got home and was hanging it all up, and I just loved how this floral print popped against the cobalt blue. That's when it dawned on me that I should figure out a way to pair these two together! And, VOILA - enter one of my favorite new outfits for Fall! It is so awesome when you get a piece that you can utilize in more than one way! Wishing you a great start to the new week! XO

Fall Weddings + Gala Attire

Fall Weddings
Dress: Self-Portrait (way more affordable alternative here!)
Clutch: Saint Laurent (love this one, too!)
Lipgloss: Mac | Undies: Hanky Panky
 Brightening Powder: Bobbi Brown
Earrings: Oscar de la Renta

Happy Friday!! Today, I wanted to share a look that would be perfect for any upcoming weddings you may have this Fall and also talk about the Don Bosco Cristo Rey Junior Board Gala coming up on September 29th here in DC! I actually just purchased the more affordable alternative of this dress in black, and I was SHOCKED at the quality for the price. I will be wearing it to a wedding we have in October! Secondly, I know the price tag on these Stuart Weitzman sandals is a bit heavy, but they are so very worth the investment and will be a staple in your closet for years to come. And, my favorite little undies for all special events are the Hanky Panky Bares. They are so comfortable, seamless, and literally feel like you have nothing on underneath your dress! An absolute must-have!!

Lastly, I wanted to share a little more about the gala I mentioned above that's taking place on Friday, September 29th! The DBCR Junior Board provides an outlet for young professionals to put their skills and talents to use and give back to their community by supporting an educational cause. The board supports the Don Bosco Cristo Rey High School, which is a unique school for students with limited financial means that combines a college prep curriculum with professional work experience to form a model that equips their students with the necessary skills to grow into mature young adults ready for college and success beyond what they ever imagined! Truly a great cause and the gala proceeds help support this mission! This look would be perfect for the event! If you are in the DC area, let me know if you will be attending! You can get your tickets here! Happy weekend, everyone! XO

Mad Over Mustard + The Most Fab Leopard Booties Under $40!

Sweater: Tularosa | Denim Mini: Topshop
Belt: Gucci | Booties: A New Day (obsessed!!)
Earrings: Sugarfix by Baublebar
Bag: Old, loving this one! | Hat: Old, similar here

I must say that when it comes to an outfit, there is nothing I love more than mixing high and low price points... and this outfit is just that. Mustard, marigold, and basically any form of muted yellow is fall's hottest color and I'm all over it! This sweater is so comfortable and I love how it falls off the shoulder just a little bit. It is a heavier material, so if you are wanting a sweater that will keep you warm once the weather cools down then this is it! It also comes in red and beige as well. I decided to pair it with my favorite black, denim mini since it's still warm out and top it off with my beloved Gucci belt. Now onto the stars of the show.... these leopard booties! If you've been following my blog for awhile, you know how much I love the Who What Wear Collection (my go-to source for SO many work dresses!) that you can find in your local Target store. This past weekend I stopped in to check out all of the new arrivals from their line, and I spotted these booties across the aisle. I immediately walked over to grab them in my size and try them on (they run true to size by the way)! I love how the heel is a little lower, so they are perfect for walking around in all day, and it makes them ideal for pairing with dresses for the office. It could not get any better at under $40! Wishing you a great rest of your week! XO

Misa Los Angeles

Sandals: Steve Madden | Bag: Chloé
Sunglasses: BP. Nordstrom

Misa does it again with another fabulous matching set. Pair this set with suede sandals for now, and then taupe over-the-knee boots in just a few weeks when the temps begin to officially cool down. I think it's safe to say that this brand is becoming one of my absolute favorites. You might remember this set from this post, which initially got me hooked. I was browsing Revolve the other day, and I came across so many pieces from their fall arrivals including this dress, this top, and this matching skirt that I just couldn't get over. You will be seeing a lot more from this brand over the next few weeks!

I feel so many emotions as we remember what happened sixteen years ago today. I still remember where I was and what I was doing that morning. I had just arrived to school, and I was sitting in my first period history class when the first plane hit. It was a moment I'll never forget... my teacher turned on the TV and we all sat there in awe. To be honest, at the time I didn't really understand the effects our country would experience from a terrorist attack. It didn't make sense to my teen self. But today, as I reflect back on that specific day in 2001, it has had a huge impact on my life. It developed and sparked a passion in me that I never thought possible. Never in a million years did I think sixteen years ago today, that I would be going on seven years of living and working in our nation's capital. There's not a day that goes by when I'm walking into work that it doesn't cross my mind! I feel so blessed and thankful to live in a place that provides me the opportunity to follow my dreams and live freely. It is something I will never take for granted!

And, to those of you in Hurricane Irma's path, I am thinking of and praying for you all constantly this week. My heart goes out to all of you!! Stay safe. XO

Stepping Into Fall

Dress: Moon River (on sale for under $50!!)
Booties: Steve Madden
Bag: Chloé | Sunglasses: Old, loving these
Lips: Bobbi Brown in "Dusty Pink" (can't stop wearing it!!)

A flirty neck tie, smocked waist, and tiered hem make this soft floral print dress so very flattering and perfect for the fall months ahead! I am all for a floral print especially in soft grey hues and even more for deeper/bolder hues during the cooler months. I snatched this one up during the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale a few weeks ago, but now it's on sale for even less! Story of my life... am I right?! Haha but I absolutely adore the waistline details... the smocked waist makes it so flattering! If there is a problem area there that you are trying to hide, this dress does it for you! These grey booties are my absolute favorites... affordable, chic, and in the perfect grey suede. I've had my eye on these Stuart Weitzman beauties, but when I saw these - I ordered them immediately. They are true to size and will make your legs look way longer than they actually are... hallelujah! I can't recommend them enough... I might be going back for them in the black. As always, thanks for stopping by! XO
