All About Denim

Denim | Bodysuit | Sunglasses
Similar bag here
Super similar pumps here

Happy Monday!! The last few weeks I have been in search of some "mom jeans." While I'm not a mom yet, I've been loving this trend! I mean come on... the older I get, I must admit I'm all for some high-waisted, semi-loose fitting jeans! However, for some reason I have not been able to find any that look quite right on me until (drum roll, please!) I came across these!! I read rave reviews recently about this brand's denim shorts, so why I waited so long to purchase some of their jeans is beyond me. However, I'm glad I finally took the plunge. And, truth be told, I'm obsessed!! These jeans fit in all the right places and truly give off that "mom jean" look I've been going for! Next up, I'm going to snag these! You can shop more of my favorite denim picks below by clicking directly on the image!

On a completely different note, I wanted to mention the DBCR Junior Board Gala coming up on September 14th here in DC! The Junior Board provides an outlet for young professionals to put their skills and talents to use and give back to their community by supporting an educational cause. The board supports the Don Bosco Cristo Rey High School, which is a unique school for students with limited financial means that combines a college prep curriculum with professional work experience to form a model that equips their students with the necessary skills to grow into mature young adults ready for college and success beyond what they ever imagined! Truly a great cause and the gala proceeds help support this mission! If you are in the DC area, let me know if you will be attending! You can get your tickets here!

Royal Blue

Calling all Ole Miss fans!! This dress would be so perfect for The Grove! Pair it with some booties, wear it with or without a belt, and just add a long necklace (if wearing it without a belt) for one comfy yet chic gameday look! And, if you're wondering what the heck I'm talking about - at my alma mater, we get dressed up for football games! Clearly, I'm talking to the ninessss! Okay, not everyone, but if you ever visit Oxford, MS during football season, you'll see some wonderfully dressed southern women! Aside from football, this dress would be great for transitioning into Fall! This color blue gives me SO much life, and it is honestly one of my favorite hues! Did I mention this dress is under $25?! Say whattttt!!!! I hope y'all had a great weekend! It rained off and on here, but luckily the rain cleared up enough on Saturday that I was able to attend a bbq with some friends! Wishing y'all a great start to your week! XO

Pink Jumpsuit

Jumpsuit | Shoes | Sunglasses | Clutch
Similar earrings here (mine are by Marcia Moran)

I have had my eyes on this jumpsuit for months, so when I saw it was restocked online I immediately jumped on it. It is literally the most comfortable jumpsuit I've ever worn!! The fabric is super soft and stretchy, but not so stretchy to where it will stretch out and become too big. Also, it is perfect for any of you taller girls! The fact that I could actually wear three inch heels with it is a miracle. That never happens for me with jumpsuits or any type of pants for that matter! I am obsessed and wish this thing came in more colors, because I would definitely buy another one!! I hope y'all are having a great week! We are almost to the weekend! As always, thanks for stopping by! XO

Maxi Shirt

Shoes are old but similar here

I realize there are a bunch of maxi's around here lately (maxi dress, maxi romper, and now this maxi shirt!), BUT this may be the best one yet! I am all here for this chic twist on a maxi dress. Wear it as a shirt or wear it as a dress (insert praise hands), and we've got two outfits in one, folks!! I think we can all agree that having more than one way to style any piece of clothing in our closet is always amazing!

I hope y'all had a great weekend! We had such a fun date night at The Wharf on Saturday. It's a newer development in Southwest DC that opened up last year with lots of amazing restaurants, some shopping, and even a concert venue. It's such a neat spot in this city, and I have to say being by the water is a peaceful break from all the hustle and bustle! If you are visiting DC anytime soon, I highly recommend making a stop there! Hope your Monday is off to a great start! XO

Yellow Striped Maxi Romper

Maxi Romper | Sandals | Bag | Sunglasses
Earrings are by Marcia Moran (similar style here)

There's no denying that I have been all over the color yellow this Summer. It makes me so happy when I wear it, and I just love how bright and cheerful it is! The deep V on this maxi romper is what sold me aside from the cheerful color. Bringing on some va-va-VOOM, am I right?!

I hope y'all are having a great week! It has been raining for 4 days straight here in DC. I am already counting down to the weekend, which hopefully is filled with some sunshine after this rainy week! As always, thanks for stopping by! XO

It's a miracle - I have a new blog post up!! First things first, I did not mean to take such a long hiatus from posting on here. The truth is that June/the last few weeks have been nuts for me! This time of year is the absolute busiest at my day job, and on top of that we were traveling a good bit of June on the weekends so time just got away from me! However, if you follow me on Instagram, you know that I have been posting A LOT and keeping up with my outfit photos on there. So, be sure to follow along on insta, as I try to post a new photo daily!

Whew - onto the good stuff! It's the best time of year with the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale kicking off today for cardholders. I am trying to make it a point this year to not just buy stuff because it's on sale, but to find a few items that are staples that I know I will truly get my wear out of come Fall and Winter.

Above are my top ten clothing and shoe picks from the sale (plus my favorite bra)! The beauty section is actually one of my favorite parts of the sale, but I will save that for a separate post!

Lastly, below I am sharing a few other things that are sitting in my cart as well! Happy shopping!! XO

Ruffled Wrap Dress

The type of dress you can literally wear anywhere - on a vacation, to work, for date night, or even to a wedding! Getting the most bang for your buck out of a dress is the best. This dress also comes in a navy floral pattern and the prettiest shade of red! I have been so drawn to this shade of green this year (last seen here) that I couldn't pass it up! Make a statement by pairing a bold, gold pair of earrings with this midi to complete the look!

I hope everyone has a great Memorial Day weekend! We are headed to Mississippi to visit my family, and I am so very excited! I only get home literally about twice a year... it can be so hard but it makes me appreciate the time I do get to spend with my family that much more! Have a fun weekend and please stay safe everyone!! Lots of love! XO
