Stripes can be a major hit or miss! My thought process when it comes to wearing horizontal stripes - am I gonna look as wide as a cow or will I make a statement? A statement in a good way that is! I don't know about you, but that's what I've always asked myself when putting on stripes. However, when I saw this rainbow mini, I knew I could dress it up and make it a fun statement option. I adore the colorful striped pattern, and while the length is on the shorter end - pairing it with my black over-the-knee boots gives a bit more coverage while leaving just a little bit of leg to show off! 

I hope y'all had a great Veteran's Day weekend! It was a nice long one for us and it was much needed!! I could get used to three day weekends that's for sure!! One of my favorite outfits to date! I walked into Forever 21 last week while I was at the Pentagon City mall and just couldn't get over how much cute stuff they had out for Fall and Winter! I always look online at their faux fur coats each Winter, as they usually have some serious statement outerwear that's beyond affordable yet fashion forward. I can't even begin to describe how hard the wind was blowing during this shoot!! However, in the end I think it ended up working out to show off this amazing leopard dress - just ignore my hair! I am headed to the RewardStyle/LIKEtoKNOW.it book tour party tonight here in DC, and I plan on wearing this dress! The fit is a dream and it is a piece that I will keep in my closet for years to come. It actually has a bit of an open back, but it's not too revealing. Also, if leopard isn't your thing, it's available in two other patterns - a black and white striped pattern and a neutral, floral pattern. Lastly, I must mention these shoes!! I have been searching for a low-heeled black pump (basically a kitten heel), and I was so excited when I came across these! Perfect to pair with ripped denim, any outfit for the office, and any dress like I'm wearing here! I'm so excited that this type of heel is making a comeback... rejoice for all of us tall girls!! XO

Happy Monday and Columbus Day! I hope you have the day off, but if you don't, which I completely understand, then I hope your work day passes by quickly! My sister and brother-in-law are flying into DC this morning, so I am off to the airport to pick them up! I am so excited to have them here for a few days! Happy Friday!! I'm so in love with this romper, so I just had to share it! It also comes in red, which would be perfect for any of you Ole Miss fans!! And, if you're not an Ole Miss fan or even into football for that matter (I hear ya!), the red would also make a great date night outfit (swoon!!). Another thing I love about this little romper is the fact that it has sleeves and keeps your upper half covered. I paired it with my favorite little white booties, but it would look equally as fab with a grey over-the-knee boot.

Lastly, I just want to say thank you for your support on my little space of the internet here!! I am trying to get back in the routine of posting more frequently on my blog after this crazy Summer!! Balancing a full-time job, finding time to take photos, link everything, write the actual blog post, prepare my content for Instagram, etc. (the list goes on forever!!) is certainly no easy task. Happy October!!!! I am excited for all things Fall, and I will admit that the month of October is hands down one of the best in DC! And, everywhere for that matter! After October, winter basically hits here, so I'm gonna soak up every bit of this month as much as possible!! I wanted to share this simple and super affordable look with you all today. I literally have this dress in 3 colors (the striped one worn here, the heathered white, and the dark grey!) - oh, and I have the sleeveless version in black, which is perfect for layering cardigans over! Lastly, I must mention these booties. They are a dupe for the Kristin Cavallari booties from Nordstrom, and I have been so pleased with these that are a fraction of the price! They are so comfortable, go with so much, and they are such a great neutral color! XO

Alright, y'all, you know my love for Target runs deep... real deep. And, just when I thought they couldn't get any better - BAM! I was checking my email a week or so ago, and I happened to open an email from Target promoting this new line. I honestly couldn't believe my eyes!! A 9-5, working woman's dream come true! Not only is this line great for us office dwellers, but it defines city chic with it's modern, versatile, and oh so affordable pieces!! I stopped into my favorite Target store just the other night and bought three pieces from the line (this shirt dress for the office, the dress I'm wearing in this post, and this statement coat!).

Happy September and HAPPY FALL!! I realize it's not technically Fall yet, but the temperatures have dropped in DC and I'm planning to pull out all of my boots, cardis, and jackets this weekend! They are currently stored in our coat closet stuffed in the back corner of the rack to where I can't even see them. So, when I went to reach for a jacket this morning, I had to shift the entire rack just to reach that far back! The dream of having a huge closet... one day, y'all, ONE DAY!!

Anyways, as much as I struggle with the cold weather, it is one of my absolute favorite times of year for fashion! This entire look is from Zara, which is one of my favorite spots to shop this time of year! They kill it with their Fall/Winter pieces. Chic, affordable, and super on trend. Happy Friday!! I honestly can't believe I'm posting about overalls. I realize they aren't the full on, tried and true blue jean overalls, but, if you would have asked me a few years ago if overalls would come back around - I would have laughed in your face! I'm easing into the trend with these wide-leg striped "overalls" before completely taking the plunge. I absolutely adore the fit of these as they feel more like a jumpsuit, which we all know I love a good jumpsuit!
