Ruffled Wrap Dress

The type of dress you can literally wear anywhere - on a vacation, to work, for date night, or even to a wedding! Getting the most bang for your buck out of a dress is the best. This dress also comes in a navy floral pattern and the prettiest shade of red! I have been so drawn to this shade of green this year (last seen here) that I couldn't pass it up! Make a statement by pairing a bold, gold pair of earrings with this midi to complete the look!

I hope everyone has a great Memorial Day weekend! We are headed to Mississippi to visit my family, and I am so very excited! I only get home literally about twice a year... it can be so hard but it makes me appreciate the time I do get to spend with my family that much more! Have a fun weekend and please stay safe everyone!! Lots of love! XO

My Favorite Rompers For Summer!

Romper (also comes in yellow!) | Sandals | Sunglasses | Bag

I absolutely LOVE rompers! However, finding them to fit my tall frame can be tricky! Secondly, let's just lay it all out there... trying to go to the bathroom in one at an event can be tricky. Regardless, I still love everything about them! It's like a one and done type of outfit, and I'm always into that. So, when I tried this little romper on at Nordstrom and the fit was spot on I just had to have it. I was a little nervous about the tie front combined with the cutout, but it hits high enough that it flatters the mid-section! Trust me, if I can pull it off then you can! Below, I am sharing some of my favorites that I've found online!! XO

Lilac Love

Dress (love this romper version in red and this dress!!)
Sandals | Bag | Sunglasses | Earrings

Happy Thursday, y'all! I know it's been a little bit since I've posted, and I had every intention of posting on the blog during our trip to California last week, but I got caught up in the moment and just wanted to enjoy our time there! Coming back to work this week has been ROUGH!! I hope you were able to follow along on Instagram last week, and I've been sharing some photos from our trip on there this week as well, so be sure you are following along here!

I had to share this dress with y'all today though! It's such a steal, the color is gorgeous, and the cut is so flattering!! This lilac/lavender color is everywhere this season, and it's seriously so flattering on! I paired these adorable Sugarfix earrings by Baublebar (be sure to check out their display in your local Target!). They have some really cute and SUPER affordable jewelry for all of your Summer outfits!

P.S. - This dress keeps going in and out of stock!!! Forgive me! When I finished writing this post last night, it was sold out! However, checking back this morning, it looks like there are a few sizes left! So, keep checking if you are interested and your size isn't available! I am linking two similar options from the same brand above (a romper version of this dress in red and another option I love!!) so be sure to check those out!! Lots of love! XO

Asymmetrical Dress or Trench

Trench DressTank
I purchased these denim shorts last year at Target and seriously love them, but obviously can't find them online anymore! I'm linking a similar pair here though for under $50!

I originally ordered this "trench dress" to wear as just that, a dress. However, to be completely honest, when I got it in the mail I just didn't love how it looked on me when worn as a dress. So, that made me get creative! I adore the asymmetrical hem on it combined with the short sleeves, which makes it a great layering piece for this time of year. I decided to pair it over my staple white tank and favorite denim shorts to create an elevated city chic, summer look. Wearing a long duster, trench, or kimono over shorts in the warmer months can make you feel covered and not so exposed while keeping your proportions in line. Try grabbing a shirt dress from your closet to create a similar look as seen here!

PS - This piece is a part of Chriselle Lim's line with J.O.A. at Nordstrom, and every single item from the line is fabulous! I am linking a few other pieces I'm obsessed with below! XO

What I'm Packing & Where We're Going!!

I mentioned in Wednesday's post that we are headed to California at the end of next week, so I thought I would do a different type of post on the blog today talking all about what I'm packing and where we're headed! The picture above was taken in November on the last trip we took to South Africa, which to this day is one of my favorite places I've ever visited in the world. It was a truly life changing experience visiting that part of the world and seeing all of the animals out in the wild. More on that later, but let's get to our upcoming trip - CALIFORNIA! In May of 2016, we visited San Francisco and Napa with friends, which also happened to coincide with my 30th birthday! It's a trip I will never forget, and I highly recommend taking a wine country trip with a group of friends - SO much (maybe a little too much) FUN!

Since that trip, we have wanted to go back to California and visit. I am one hundred percent a warm weather and sunshine type of girl. You probably laugh as you read that because who isn't?! But, I truly feel like I thrive in an environment that's sunny, warm, and full of gorgeous greenery! So, to say that I'm excited for this trip is an understatement! We are flying into San Francisco (Buddy's one request for the trip so that we can attend a baseball game) where we will spend two nights, then we are renting a car and making our way down the coastline, stopping at Big Sur (and who else knows where along the way), then making a stop in Laguna Beach for two nights, then finally LA for the remainder of the trip!

I have a running list of restaurants, hotels, and places that I want to see after scouring my bestie's LA City Guide, which you can find here! I've mentioned Holly's website, The Hollyday, before on this blog, but her LA City Guide has been a lifesaver for me with this trip ahead of us! If there are any other spots or recommendations you have in mind, please do share and comment below or on my latest Instagram post! I would love to hear from you!!

Below, I am sharing some things that I plan to take with me for the trip! I've been shopping for weeks, and I can't wait to share some great content with you all from our travels! XO

Kimono Love

Kimono | White Jeans | Sandals | Tank | Bag

I picked up this kimono a few weeks ago from Bloomingdale's, and I've been dying to pull it out ever since! I was planning to save it for our trip to California next week (which I can't wait to share more about!), but last week when it was warm here I decided it was time to bust it out! Yellow is a color that seriously makes me happy! This kimono screams all things Spring and Summer, and it would be so fabulous styled over a bathing suit, too, as a coverup on your next beach vacay! This particular design is also available in a dress, which you can shop here! I adore the dress version even more! Below, I am linking some other fun kimonos that I found at all different price points! Happy shopping! XO

The Bloomingdale's Friends & Family Sale!

This week marks the beginning of the Bloomingdale's friends and family sale (online 4/6-4/15 and in store 4/9-4/15) making this one of my favorite times to stock up on some of my Spring must-haves. Bloomie's has always been the place that I'll splurge on some of my favorite designers - case and point here with this Rebecca Taylor dress. Every Spring I always treat myself to a top from my favorite designer, Joie, and a nice, silky dress (or two!) from Rebecca Taylor, Parker, or one of my all-time faves, Alice and Olivia. When I saw this gorgeous Rebecca Taylor off-the-shoulder number last week, I immediately grabbed it off the rack to feel the silk. Her dresses are always done right - subtle, chic, and seriously luxurious! You won't be disappointed, and it's always nice to have a favorite Spring dress in your closet that you can reach for when you need it! Linking a few more of my picks from the sale below! XO

Everyday Tops

I shared this outfit last week on Instagram talking about how I am currently trying to invest in more tops for "everyday wear." Tops that I can literally just throw on with some jeans and go. Aren't those essential for all of us?! As you all know, I work in an environment where I usually have to dress up on the daily. However, there are days that we can wear jeans (not very many), but I've found myself being able to mix tops like this with jeans on casual days and then tucked into skirts on normal days. Rachel Parcell has always been one of my favorite bloggers, so when she released her clothing line I knew there would be so many pieces that I loved. On top of her main line which includes lots of feminine dresses and skirts, she came out with an everyday line that includes pieces that are practical, affordable, and ideal for women on the go. This post is not sponsored, but I truly just love her line and everything she's doing with it! Below, I've included some of my favorite pieces from it along with other tops that are functional and practical for everyday wear, the weekend, and some that can be mixed in with work wear! Wishing you all a great weekend ahead!! XO

Must-Have: Classic & Chic White Pants

Exact pants can be found here and I also LOVE these!
Shoes | Handbag | Sunglasses

Happy Monday! I hope y'all had a great Easter weekend with family and friends! The weather was so nice here and it truly felt like Spring! I had the day off from work on Good Friday, so I spent the day shopping around and met Buddy downtown for lunch in the midst of hitting up some of my favorite stores downtown! Whichhh brings me to this post and these AMAZING white pants!! There's a Zara in the middle of downtown DC (Metro Center to be exact if you're local), and I always try to stop in every few weeks to see what's new in store. In my last post, I mentioned how I found these black shorts there on my recent NYC trip. Well, when I stopped in on Friday, these white pants were front and center in the store, and I immediately snagged them. I am 5'11" so finding pants long enough for my frame has been a struggle all my life basically. So, I immediately thought, well, they probably won't be long enough, but I'm going to give them a shot anyways. I took them in the dressing room and just about died when I put them on and realized they were long enough, high waisted, and not see-through! Win, win, and win! I wanted to pair a bright floral top with them for these pics, but I decided to keep the look simple and chic in just black and white. This top is old, but you could tuck any black, silky tank into these pants for a similar look! A look that is classic and chic and always in style. Wishing you a great start to your week!! XO

Shorts Suit (For A Fraction Of The Price!)

Exact shorts here and also love these

I have been on the hunt for a "shorts suit" (if that's even a real term) over the last few weeks. What I mean is a structured blazer/matching shorts set. I love how chic, sophisticated, yet sexy they are when worn with an ankle strap heel. I saw this striped set from Tibi (blazer here and shorts here), and I instantly fell in love! However, I just could not justify spending that much. Well, while in NYC I picked up these black shorts from Zara, and I've been dying to style them for the blog ever since! Fast forward to this past Saturday while I was browsing Target and I spotted this striped blazer (I mean how similar is it to the Tibi one?!?!), and I literally could not get over it. There were three left on the rack and luckily one was in my size, so I grabbed it, tried it on right there on the spot and put it in my cart. I got home and tried it on with my new black shorts, and whaddaya know - the shorts suit I'd been searching for all along!! I was just so proud of myself for putting together my own set for a fraction of the price. Tibi, I will always love you, but sometimes this girl has got to stay on budget! XO

Easter Dresses

Dress | Heels | Clutch | Similar earrings here

Happy Friday!! I apologize for being so MIA on the blog this week... it has been a whirlwind of a week. I had the best time in NYC last weekend with my friends! It was seriously so good for the soul and so worth it regardless of the crazy work week I knew I would have ahead of me. I got back to DC Monday afternoon, headed straight into the office, and I've had work events after work every night this week. So, needless to say, it's been one heck of a week and my blog has suffered a little neglect. However, with Easter Sunday a little over a week away, I wanted to share some dresses that I've come across that I think would be perfect if you're on the hunt! You can click on any image directly to shop the item! Personally, I'm in love with Rachel Parcell's Spring line, and I'm SO close to pulling the trigger on this white dress! I literally have been looking at it everyday this week! I love how feminine and classy it is! I hope you have a great weekend ahead! I'm looking forward to getting some rest and getting my life in order after this crazy week!! XO

Spring Casual: Under $100

Top | Handbag | Wedges
Bobbi Brown Art Stick (my fave shade is "Dusty Pink")
Sunglasses | Hoop Earrings | Ripped Denim

Happy Friday!! Today, I wanted to share a few items that I have and love and also a few items that I've got on my wish list for Spring! I love finding any casual white top that I can throw on during the warmer months with ripped denim or denim shorts. This white top is perfect, and I adore the ruffle detailing on it! Secondly, I have and LOVE these round sunnies. They just came back in stock, and I have already ordered another pair of them in a different color! These Levi's are my current faves and such a staple for your closet! I have the lighter wash, but I love the contrast of the white top with the darker wash! Finally, these wedges and this crossbody bag are the perfect pairing! I'm linking a few other white tops I'm loving along with some other denim options in the widget below!

I am headed to NYC today to see my best friend, Holly, and celebrate her birthday this weekend with two of my other besties! I am so excited for a weekend in the city and to visit Holly's new place! She just moved to NYC, and I am just thrilled for her. Be sure to check out her adorable blog and travel site here! I hope y'all have a fabulous weekend!! XO

Floral Cold Shoulder Top & My Favorite Pumps

Similar earrings here

Happy Monday! How was your weekend? I am excited for the start of a new week with this time change! It's my favorite time of year, as there's no greater feeling than leaving the office and having a few hours of daylight left! Now, we just need for the temperatures to rise and I'll be one happy camper! How adorable is this cold shoulder top? It would pair perfectly with white denim too, but I love pairing tops with this particular pair of black, ripped denim. They are so comfortable, slimming, and ripped in just the right spots! Lastly, these white pumps are my new favorite purchase. They are SO comfortable for a high heel and the quality is so good! I've had my eyes on this pair from Stuart Weitzman for awhile, but I just couldn't make myself pull the trigger on them with that price tag. So, needless to say I was SUPER pumped when I found these (for a fraction of the price!!), and I seriously can't get over how chic and comfy they are on! I can't recommend them enough and they come in quite a few colors! Wishing you a great start to your week! XO

Little Black Romper + My Favorite Statement Earrings

Similar earrings here and more about this exact pair below!

Happy Thursday, y'all! How fab is this little black romper? I am a huge fan of rompers, always have been, and always will be! Although, there's no denying that they can be difficult to shop for when it comes to finding the perfect fit with my tall frame! But, when I find one that is long enough in the torso - it's like, BAM! I struck gold! I came across this little black romper while browsing Nordstrom's website, and I knew I had to have it. It is such a great quality piece for the price, and it is just as essential as the need for a little black dress in your wardrobe. There are so many ways you can style and accessorize it, which makes it so versatile. I chose to pair my favorite gold statement earrings with it, which I have gotten a few questions about from y'all! These exact earrings are by Marcia Moran, and I purchased them from one of my favorite boutiques back home in Mississippi called Material Girls. You can call any of their stores to purchase these earrings, and I am linking their website here with all of their contact information. Unfortunately, these exact earrings aren't sold on their website, but they should have them in store! Also, I found them on Marcia Moran's website, and you can order them directly here! I hope that helps! These earrings are awesome and truly worth the price if you love big, statement earrings! I wear them with everything!! Lastly, below I've linked a super similar pair from Kendra Scott that I'm obsessed with right now! The new arrivals from Kendra Scott's Spring and Summer lines are all just incredible! XO
